  9.        About Envelope Maker  -------------------------------------------

  11.        Envelope Maker is an easy to use,  full feature envelope printing
  12.        application that makes the job of printing envelopes a breeze. It
  13.        runs on all IBM and compatible computers in a minimum of  128K of
  14.        RAM.  It supports dot matrix, daisy-wheel, and laser printers.  A
  15.        European version is available for DL, C4, C5, and C6 envelopes.

  17.        Envelope Maker is a shareware product,  which means that you  can
  18.        try it before you buy it,  and freely copy and share the  program
  19.        with your friends.

  21.        There are three steps to using Envelope Maker:
  22.          1. Installing the Envelope Maker files.
  23.          2. Running the Program
  24.          3. Reading the User's Guide
  25.  
  26.        In the directions that follow,  <Enter> means press the  Enter or
  27.        Return key.

  29.        Installing Envelope Maker  --------------------------------------

  31.        Envelope Maker  may be installed on any  drive/directory on  your
  32.        hard disk or, ran from a floppy disk drive.  The only requirement
  33.        is that  EM.EXE, ENVMAKER.IDX,  and  ENVMAKER.DAT files be on the
  34.        same drive and directory.
  35.  
  36.        Registered users receive one of two versions of the  program file
  37.        (EM.EXE). The first, optimized for CPUs 8088 thru 80186 will have
  38.        a /U  suffix,  marked after the  version designation.  The second
  39.        version for 80286 thru 80486 CPUs, will have a /F suffix.  If you
  40.        don't  designate your  CPU type when you register,  or you're not
  41.        sure of the type, you'll receive a /U type. This is the universal
  42.        version that will run on all IBM and compatible computers. The /F
  43.        version will only run on computers with an 80286 or higher CPU.

  45.        Installing on floppy only system:   With your  DOS system disk in
  46.        drive A: and a blank diskette in drive B: type:

  48.          Format B: /s  <Enter>

  50.        After formatting put this disk in drive A. Put the Envelope Maker
  51.        distribution disk in drive B and type:

  53.          Copy B:*.* A: <Enter>

  55.        You're ready now to run Envelope Maker.

  57.        Installing  on a  hard disk system:   At the C>  prompt and  with
  58.        Envelope Maker distribution disk in drive A type:
  59.          Copy A:*.* C:\directory of your choice <Enter>

  73.        use of the Grab TSR utility.

  76.        Running Envelope Maker  -----------------------------------------

  79.        Floppy disk system:  With your working diskette in drive A and at
  80.        the A> prompt, type:
  81.                          EM <Enter>
  82.  
  83.        Hard Disk system: Change to the directory you copied the Envelope
  84.        Maker files to and type:
  85.                          EM <Enter>
  86.  
  87.        Select the Setup option from the Main Menu.  Envelope Maker auto-
  88.        matically detects the adapter type  and allows  three colors with
  89.        any color adapter.  Monochrome adapter computers don't  have this
  90.        option.  If your monitor is color,  select the Change Colors menu
  91.        option. Follow the screen prompts to set the three colors of your
  92.        choose.  Continue setup, selecting your printer type and envelope
  93.        size choice, ETC.. Changes made take effect when you exit Setup.

  96.        Reading the User's Guide  ---------------------------------------

  98.        The user's guide is the file EM.DOC.  This is an ASCII file which
  99.        may  printed or viewed with your favorite  text editor.  Read the
  100.        User's Guide  for detailed descriptions  of all  Envelope Maker's
  101.        features, functions, and commands.

  103.        You are encouraged to copy the  Envelope Maker  disk and share it
  104.        with others.  After trying out Envelope Maker, and decide to con-
  105.        tinue to use it,  you are  trusted to register for  $20.00.  Your
  106.        support is important and greatly appreciated. With it, this Share
  107.        ware product will be continuously developed and updated.
